UW Geology Museum

Listening to a talk about the fossils. Some more than others.
This cave is cool, and not the least bit scary, while my daddy's carrying me.
Holding hands on a walk together. So cute.
LUNCH.NAPTIME.
Dylan's a very good walking partner. Otherwise the smaller kids don't move and we must have movement.
I'll offer you a visual aid to illustrate taking Ollie and Dylan to the park. Picture Ollie as the pole in tether ball and Dylan as the ball. The game is being played by two equally matched opponents so the ball never stops or continues in the same direction for very long.

Lois and Lucy's Lunch
Lois and Dylan fight like they're brother and sister. Playgroup started with a bang. I had been talking with a dad when I see out of the corner of my eye, Dylan swing and push Lois knocking her to the ground. I immediately sit him down in the corner and tell him not to hit. Then I return to Lois and find that she staring at the ground, with a pouting look on her face, as if she did something wrong. I instruct her to share toys and tell her it's alright. I return to Dylan to find a bloody lip, which I didn't see happen. I can only guess that either Lois hit him with something or he fell but I have no evidence of either.
After the first episode, the rest of the time is very tame. No crying, hitting or fighting between either of them.
Tame enough...about five minutes before the hitting/falling episode.
Doesn't Lucy look sophisticated? Jeremy looks so proud.

New Year's Eve
We went very low-key with our celebration this year. Our friends Jeremy, Allison and Lucy came over for dinner, adult conversation, and games. (Not to mention kid amusement purposes)
Dylan was jealous of Lucy's Beret, so Allison gave him one.

A Walk to Monty's
I spent the morning waiting for my neck to loosen up. I'm still waiting.
We went to Dad's Group today and had a relaxing time. We have some new attendees lately so the conversations aren't as wide ranging as usual. (and the fact that Brian and Ted have been sick) Bob and Will came today for the first time since June, it was nice to see them. John, Josie, Jeremy, Lucy, Ben, Bjorn, Dylan and I went to Monty's for lunch. It's the first time that I witnessed Josie being a character. (Luoma/Gilbert family blog describes her this way. She's very clingy and subdued in the Happy Bambino Resource Room) She managed to do a number of things while the rest of us were eating: dribble/spit water onto her dress, squish jelly onto herself, say hi to our waitress, dump cheerios on the floor, take her shoes off... John did a fantastic job of not drawing additional attention to any of this behavior. (I kept my napkin over my face) For the record she did eat very well and she wasn't doing this behavior constantly just being curious and playing.
Here's Lucy and Jeremy walking back from Monty's.
