great

Update from the infirmary/our house-

Turtle - is stinky and sleeps on me, Tricia, or Dylan.

Whisper - a bed panther that most rub, push, slam her weight into you until she earns an red-eye flight to the hallway.

Dylan - Sometimes he can blow his nose. he coughs. at night when we're trying to eat he cries. After he cries. he coughs. he sleeps with us. Sometimes (only once) he coughed so hard that he puked on me. He's begun eating and pooping again. Yippee!

Tricia - she's pregnant. Tummy is starting to take over but there's a struggle. The head would like to remain in control. The back and feet are also waging battle with the head, demanding rest and elevation! The nose is offering air cover during the nighttime when sleep is supposed to be happening(it's psychological warfare on me, sounds like a moose mating call...really bad dream). Boy has been sleeping with us, cause he's sick and uncomfortable. Repositioning the boy, blowing her nose, and going to the bathroom leaves exactly 23 minutes for sleeping(she goes to bed at 930 and gets up at 530)

Me - I'm ornery. my head feels fuzzy. I can, on occasion, blow my nose which helps to relieve the pressure. I occupy a bed with two other people and two cats. One of them is either on me, which I hate, pushing me or blowing their nose. Normally this wouldn't bother me, I'd just roll over, but I swallow. When I swallow I realize that, the damn elf has been at it again-scrubbing away at my throat, my throat hurts. Lucky for me I keep a glass of water next to my bed. Last night I drank so much water that I had to, along with wrestling for space on my bed, join the line for the bathroom. Soon I'll have to take a number for the Kleenex; hopefully they'll be serving my number before the light gets turned on. That's when the boy turns on the light and says, in a voice so cute I couldn't possibly stay ornery, "Daddy, time to wake-up". Then I swallow and my crappy ornery attitude is back.

THANK THE LORD FOR COFFEE, and my wife who makes it ever so yummy, IN THE MORNING!

Disclaimer: most, if not all, of this post is a gross exaggeration besides any part about crying or bodily fluids. Those are unfortunately, the only things that border on the truth.

Coughfest 2008

No pictures. No wadded up tissues. No sound bites of us coughing.

The really fantastic part of this particular respiratory infection is this....after the phlegm runs down your throat for a week(making your throat feel like an elf has gotten busy on it with a 50 grain piece of sandpaper) or so you begin to cough. And cough. And sometimes when you're done coughing. You cough some more. During which time your face turns red and cheeks begin to hurt....if you're really lucky(and talented) you can fart at the same time(this could be a problem with the omoxicillian). I mean at some point the stars will align and remarkable things happen.

I can only imagine that Dylan had a sore throat cuz that's how mine feels. It's possible but not entirely likely, I'm always right whenever I'm alone at least, that he isn't reacting to the infection the same way I am.

For instance
Tricia has a runny nose, no sore throat or cough.
Joel has a sore throat, a cough, and his glands are swollen but no runny nose
Dylan has a cough, an ear infection, a somewhat runny nose but is unable to be blown, we hypothesize that he may have a sore throat, and a partridge in a pear tree or a Turtle lying on his back.

Am I missing something or are these different infections? Is it possible that the same virus can attack each person differently? I'm sure it's possible. The Giants ARE in the Superbowl! FUDGE! That's as I should say, A incredibly huge pile of BROWN SUGAR!!!!

Oh, SUGAR!

My head hurts.

I'm going for some brandy.

A Sick Day with Mommy

Woke up/never went to sleep to a crying boiling hot boy. Off to Urgent Care. Mommy stayed home cuz I was feeling like a zombie and regardless what anybody says zombies are NOT good parents. (they eat human brains. How is that good parenting. Ridiculous! Silly people you should be ashamed of yourself)

Dylan came out of the Dr Appt with a prescription of omoxicillian for his ear infection, Tylenol for his fever(which he needed for sleeping) and a warning that omoxicillian causes diarrhea. Yippee!!!
